Gwinda Faye Carter Horton

Gwinda Faye (Carter) Horton was born November 8, 1948, in Paris, AR to a great set of parents and went
to be with her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2022 in Hawley, TX.

She was a former resident of
Bremerton/Poulsbo, WA, Kodiak, AK, Fresno area, CA and Lancaster area, CA.

She was predeceased by
her parents, Harry Levern Carter and Leona Virginia (Richards) Carter, her older brother Bill Sanderford,
as well as her oldest son. Jim Horton.
Affectionaly known as Number 1

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Donald R. Horton, her younger sister, Paulette Clinton
of Abilene, TX, her younger brother, Harry "Dean" (Cheri) Carter of Abilene, TX, as well as mother to
Harry R. (Tonya) Horton of Westboro, MO, affectionately known as Number 2, Sharon L. (Robert) Taylor
of Chester, VA, affectionately known as Number 3, Ruth E. (Keith) Cliett of Hephzibah, GA, affectionately
known as Number 4, and Jennifer L. (Jason) Thomson of Huddleston, VA, affectionately known as
Number 5.

She was Granny to 18 grandchildren and GG(Great Granny) to 23 great grandchildren.

Gwinda accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized in June 1956. She was a Christian school
teacher and was well known for her singing and playing the piano.

Besides her family and friends, she
enjoyed genealogy and history. She loved designing and sending her own greeting cards(Greetings From
Heaven), as well as making handmade gifts like paintings, quilts, crochet items, shadowboxes and more.

She was loved for her sense of humor and her unconditional love of everyone
She was a former member of the Huguenot Society of the founders of Manakin in the colony of Virginia,
the Peaks of Otter Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was a current member of Faith Baptist Church, Abilene, TX and the General William R. Terry Chapter of the United
Daughters of the Confederacy.

Services were held at Faith Baptist Church in Abilene, TX on October 13, 2022. She is to be buried at
Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene in Abilene, TX.
