SAN DIEGO -- Kathy Scott, 53, formerly of Central Point, died of cancer Sept 11 at San Diego Hospital Center. She was born in Salem and attended school in Central Point from seventh grade until graduating from Crater High School in 1963. She married Mike Nolta in 1964 and moved to San Diego. They were later divorced. Survivors include her husband, Rex, whom she married in 1976; sons, Michael and Vance Nolta and Riley Scott, all of San Diego; daughter, Autymn Scott of San Diego; mother Cleonna Appelgate of Brookings; brother, Ralph Appelgate of San Diego, CA; sister, Eddie Olson of Tangent; and two grandchildren. Memorial services will be 2pm Saturday in the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 15786 Highway 101 S in Brookings. Memorial services will also be held in San Diego. Arrangements are by San Diego Cremation Service. Contributions: American Cancer Society.
