Pauline M. Dykstra Schelle, 74, of West Lafayette, died on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Home Hospital.

Born on Sept. 14, 1933, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late Ryan and Pearl Bush Dykstra. She attended Klondike High School until her junior year, then graduated from West Lafayette High School. She was a lifelong area resident.

She married Charles F. Schelle on Sept. 14, 1951, in Lafayette, and he survives.

Mrs. Schelle was a homemaker and a member of Lafayette Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed going to Florida every spring, playing golf and cooking for her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Schelle (husband: Spencer Bower) of Lafayette and Teresa Moore (husband: Mark) of West Lafayette, two sons, Randal Schelle (wife: Lorna) of New Castle and Gary Schelle (wife: Diane) of Greenfield, and her stepmother, Katherine Dykstra.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Bradley Schelle (wife: Amber), Ashley Schelle (wife: Amy), Aprill, Lauren and Matthew Schelle, Sara Yestrebsky, Ryan and Robert Moore, Phillip Bower (wife: Kaci), Lynn Litwiller (husband: Matt), great-grandchildren, Conner and Issac Schelle, Noah and Emma Litwiller and Gianna Bower, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Jo Plantenga, and brother, Albert Dykstra.
