Ronald Henry "Ron" Tourville, 90, of Satsuma passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville following a brief illness.
Ron was born in Chateaugay, New York and had been a resident of Satsuma for the past 44 years, coming from Ormond Beach. He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He had worked as a meat cutter. He enjoyed golfing, watching wrestling and old cowboy movies, and was an avid reader. He was a member of the Crossroad Community Church in East Palatka where he had served as a trustee and was a friendly roving greeter. He was a member of the Ormond Beach Moose Lodge and the Welaka Lions Club.
Preceding him in death were his father, Roderick Tourville; his mother, Nellie DeMarse; two daughters, Linda Emerson and Tammy Whitmore; two brothers, Carl Tourville and Donald Tourville; and three sisters, Winnie Tourville, Patricia Tourville, and Colleen Shay.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Sharyn Tourville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Penny A. and Scott Olson, and Tami and Dee Phoulom; two sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald L. Tourville, and Bryan and Melissa Martin; eight grandchildren, Scotty, Sterling, Rick, Matthew, Bryce, Martyna, Mackenzie, and Mitchell; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17th at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Tim Hall officiating. The family will begin receiving friends one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens with military honors bestowed by the U.S. Navy.
