NORTH PLATTE - Robert "Bob" Dean Adams, 64, went to be with his Lord Friday, March 10, 2006, at his home after a long and courageous battle with Huntington's disease.

He was born Oct. 7, 1941, at Alliance to Wayne and Marie (Sass) Adams, and attended Alliance Public School.

In 1960 he entered the U.S. Navy. He was a ship fitter on the USS Iwo Jima. During his time, he was involved in the blockade of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

On Nov. 23, 1965, he married Karen Clark at Farmington, N. M. The couple moved to California in 1969 as Bob was hired at G.A.F. Industries.

In 1982 he went to work for Kal Kan until he was forced to retire in 1993 due to his disability. After his retirement, he and his family moved to North Platte to be closer to family. He was a member of The American Legion, Eagles and First Assembly of God.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at First Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Jim Loutzenhiser officiating.

Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery with military honors graveside by the North Platte Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home and prior to service time at the church.
