Surrounded by his loving wife and family and in the presence of angels, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and dear friend, Theodore Howard "Ted" Gordon, passed away peacefully in his home on February 5, 2008.
He was born on October 14, 1923 to Robert and Annie Eliza Whiteley Gordon in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Orem, Utah.
He married his eternal companion, Maxine Peterson, on September 19, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of eight wonderful children who were blessed with his love and example throughout their lives. They enjoyed many happy times together. He loved horses, and all animals, bowling, sports, playing the harmonica, going on road trips, and camping with family and friends.
Ted and his brother Keith owned and operated Gordon Brother's Dairy. He also worked as a custodian and a bus driver for Nebo School District. He loved living in Lake Shore and was active and supportive of Lake Shore events. He was an outstanding neighbor and helped those in need. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as Elder Quorum President, High Priest Quorum Secretary, Young Men's President, Ward Music Director, and as a Temple Ordinance Worker for the past fourteen years. He also served as Dance Director for many years.
He leaves behind his loving family; his dear wife, Maxine; six sons and two daughters, Leslee (Larry) Fillmore, Brentwood, CA; Terry Howard (Nancy) Gordon, Orange, CA; Brent H. (Lorna) Gordon, Lake Shore, UT; Kim Alan, Deceased, (Thurza) Gordon, Lake Shore, UT; Bruce Lowell (Teresa) Gordon, Spanish Fork, UT; Todd Robert (Deanne) Gordon, Salem, UT; Jed Riley (Leslie) Gordon, Salem, UT; Stephannie (Reggie) Bliss, Delta, UT; 38 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; brothers, Keith W. (Beth) Gordon, Lake Shore, UT; Robert Morris Gordon, Deceased; Junious Gordon, Deceased; Alma Lowell Gordon, Deceased. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lake Shore Ward Chapel, 5196 South 3200 West, Lake Shore. Family and Friends may call on Friday evening, February 8, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, or on Saturday morning at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to Services.
Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
