With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Mildred Cheek, 97, on October 9, 2022. Mildred will long be remembered for her kind heart, loving spirit and making everyone feel like part of her family. She was our pillar of strength and the thread that held our family together. Her witty sense of humor and laugh was contagious. She was an excellent cook and will always be remembered for making family gatherings very special. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the beach, ballparks, nature parks and at her favorite shopping stores. Mildred was born and raised in Martin, TN and spent the last several years of her life in Dunedin, Florida. She will sorely be missed by many.

Mildred is survived by daughter, Kay Rich (Gil) and sons; Keith (Cookie), Phil (Barb), Steve (Tina), Opie and sister, Shirley. Mildred was pre-deceased by husband, Morris Cheek, and brothers; Bob (Louise), Bill (Olla) and Devon (Joanne) and sons Gary (Debra) and Ron. Mildred also had 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

All friends are welcome to join the family for visitation and viewing scheduled on Saturday, October 15 between 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. followed by a service in her honor at 2 p.m. at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Palm Harbor, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Empath Suncoast Hospice. Curlew Hills FH.
