CHURCH HILL - Verda Polson "Eke" Ward, 87, of 134 Sturbridge Road, passed away Tuesday (October 7, 2003) at the Church Hill Health Care and Rehab Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Ward was a native of Evarts, Kentucky but had spent most of her adult life in Hawkins County.

She was preceded in death by her first husband - Kenneth Polson and second husband - Lee Ward, daughter, Betty Sue Bishop and son, Billy Ray Polson, her parents, Siler and Lou Jackson Partin and brother, Bill Partin.

She is survived by one daughter, Patsy Asher, Knoxville; 7 grandchildren, Marty and Patrick Polson, Penny Russell, Donna, Ricky, Teri and Robin; 9 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends anytime at the residence of Nancy Ramey, 1014 Virginia Street, Church Hill.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Elm Springs Cemetery.
