James H. "Jim" Culver, 77, of Clifton, passed away on October 7, 2022 at Riverside Medical Center. Jim was born on July 2, 1945 in Pisgah, Alabama, the son of David and Anita (Dodson) Culver. Jim grew up on a farm and helped his family live off the land. A love of plants and growing things was thus instilled in him early on and continued with him all of his days. He had a green thumb and loved gardening, landscaping, and farming. Jim also loved fishing and birdwatching. He was an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. After proudly serving our country in the Air Force for 4 years he developed a love of photography.

James married Carolyn (Payne) Culver on June 22, 1968 in Riverdale, IL. He worked as a forklift operator for Ford Motor Co. for 43 years....

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: David Jr., George, Charles, and Vernon, his sisters: Martha, Mildred, and Madeline, and his son-in-law Keith Ballantine.

The family will receive guests at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais on Monday, October 10, from 4 pm until the time of service at 7 pm. To honor Jim's wishes cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
