W. E. Dodds (William Elmer), son of Oliver Nathan and Margaret Ratterree Dodds was born Sept. 6, 1888 at Rest, Ark.
He lived in and around this section of Arkansas until about 9 years ago when he with his family moved to Branson, Mo.
He was converted at an early age and joined the Hickory Grove Baptist Church, later moved his membership to First Baptist Church of Star City, Ark. and then to Branson, Mo. He was ordained as Deacon and was very active in the First Baptist Church at Branson. He was contractor and builder of the present church auditorium.
Mr. Dodds was united in marriage to Esther Saint on July 21st, 1912 and to this union two sons were born.
He departed this life on Dec. 11, 1958 about 8:00 p.m. at his home at the age of 70 years, 3 months, 5 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife Mrs. Dodds of Branson: two sons; Leo of Branson Missouri, and Alvin of Tulsa, Oklahoma: two brothers; Walter A. and Bester L. both of Star City Ark. and one sister Edna Russell of Pine Bluff, Ark. Three grandchildren, Nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
