The formal obituary does not reveal that she was first married to Graham Smith Merrell and to that union a daughter Evelyn Marion Merrell Hardy was born( 1910-1973). Federal census(s), (1920, JP#2, Wichita, TX) read that she is a widow, daughter Evelyn is missing from that record, but Evelyn is found with her father,Graham Merrill in Burkburnett, Wichita, Texas; (1930) for Ida Caplin with her daughter Evelyn (now Hardy). Another researcher offers the name of J C Coplan. No information on J. C Coplan(Coplin) has been found. I have not found a marriage document for Ida & Dent but assume that they were married before 1942. Residence records shows Ida & Dent living in Marshall, Texas in 1946 & 1949. His WWII Draft regis reads 1942 for Cisco, Texas. If it's true that Dent lived in Marshall for 18 years, then he must have arrived in that area in 1943.
