Auditor Dies
Ralph B. Albright, who resigned as Preble County auditor on Monday of last week, died Tuesday morning at his home in Eaton after a long illness. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2:30 Friday afternoon from the Girton funeral home in Eaton, with the Rev. Richard P. Coad, pastor of the St. Paul Methodist church of Eaton, officiating.
Burial will follow in Mound Hill cemetery, Eaton.
Surviving are his widow, Hazel, and a sister, Mrs. Stanley Schwarzstrauber of Eaton.
The 61-year-old ex-auditor, was a son of the late Edward J. Albright, who for many years was editor and co-publisher of the Eaton Register, later merged with the Herald. The son was known to many of his intimate friends as Deke, his father's pseudonym. He was a life member of the Methodist church and also held membership in the K. of P. lodge. His entire life had been spent in the county seat town.
Mr. Albright was serving his second four-year term, which would have expired next March, when he resigned. Prior to his election to the post of auditor for 20 years. He was considered a capable and conscientious public official and was highly respected for his ability.
His mother was Zoa Bunger, who was a first cousin of Mrs. F.E. Hoerner, Mrs. E.T. Moots and Mrs. G.M. Kumler of Lewisburg.

R.B. Albright, 61, died Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at his home, 413 North Barron street, after an illness of three years. He had announced his resignation as county auditor in a letter to the county commissioners just last week. His condition was critical for the past three weeks.
Mr. Albright was a graduate of the local high school in the class of 120 and had attended Miami-Jacobs Business College in Dayton. He was then employed as bookkeeper for the Dayton Power and Light office in Dayton.
He served one full term as county auditor and was completing his second term when illness forced him to abandon his duties last Spring. His term would have ended in March, 1951.
Including his terms as Auditor he had served approximately 28 years in the court house during the terms of the late E.C. Newby, who served eight years, the late Spence Hunt and four years for Howard Aker.
Mr. Albright was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are the widow, Hazel, and a sister, Mrs. Harriet Swarztrauber, Eaton.
Services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Girton Funeral home with Rev. Richard P. Coad officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from three to nine p.m. on Thursday.
