Carl Joseph Citta, 91

Carl was the youngest of 7 children born to Joseph F. Citta and Ann W. (Chromy) Citta in Omaha, Nebraska.

Carl made his living as a painting contractor, first in Omaha and then in Harlan, Iowa where he and Maxine owned and operated the Harlan Paint Center for many years. This is where they raised their children. Carl was devoted to his wife, Maxine, and their children. He loved big band and polka music and Husker football.

Carl was passionate about living well with Type 1 Diabetes, which he'd had for 72 years. Donations in his honor may be made to Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, where he was a proud participant in research during his life and death. In addition, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), in honor of his two grandsons having Diabetes.

Preceded in death by his parents, five of his siblings, and his five-year-old son, Michael "Mikey".
