POMPA, VERA E. "Tiny", 96, Northern Cambria, passed away October 5, 2022, at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born September 11, 1926, in Lubbock, TX, the daughter of Theo and Lucille (Harris) Bailey. Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Frank L. Pompa, who died in 1962; son, Frank Pompa Jr.; sisters, Veva Alderson and Wanda Green; and brother, James Bailey. Survived by sons, Kenneth (Gale) Pompa and Rocco "Rocky" Pompa (Tanya), both of Northern Cambria; daughter, Jamie (Gary) Trybus, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Thomas, TX; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers Kenneth and Larry Bailey, both of TX. Vera retired from the Northern Cambria School District custodial staff, and formerly worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" building tanks during WWII. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Fr. Mark Groeger officiating. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Donations may be made in Vera's memory to Northern Cambria Public Library.
