She worked in the banking industry before becoming a bookkeeper at the Lepanto Drug Store. She was a member of the Lepanto United Methodist Church. Her hobbies are antiquing, bridge and bowling, sewing and needlework.
She is preceded in death by her husband: John M. Whayne, her parents, four brothers: Audie Phillips, Clyde Phillips, Bill Phillips and Jim Phillips, two sisters: Alma Green and Louise Manning and two grandchildren: Corin Thorpe and Suzy Gunther.
Alice is survived by two daughters: Cindy Gunther and Daniel Farmer of Gulf Shores, Alabama and Phyllis Thorpe and Brian of St. Augustine, Florida, four grandchildren, sever great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Services will be private.
