Funeral services for Geneva hamilton, 92 were held at the Salmon LDS Stake Center with Bishop Clint Hobbs of the Salmon 2nd Ward conducting. Mrs. Hamilton passed away 5 December 1998 in the Steele Memorial Hospital. She was born 24 December 1905 in Pocatello, a daughter of Samuel and Carrie S. Eggertz Spillman. The family moved to Wilford in 1911. She attended grade school in Wilford and high school in St. Anthony. Geneva married Vern Hamilton in St. Anthony on 15 August 1925. Their marriage was solemnized on 17 April 1963 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. The couple lived in the Rigby and Rexburg area until 1956 when they made their home in the Pahsimeroi Valley. Mr. Hamilton passed away 12 May 1987. Geneva moved to Salmon with her son and daughter-in-law, DaWayne and Linda Hamilton in 1992. She enjoyed crocheting, making quilts and doing needle work. The biggest part of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren during her later years. She served as Relief Society president, primary teacher and visiting teacher for many years, as a member of the LDS Church. Geneva is survived by her sister, Athalia (Kenneth) Roberts of Aberdeen; her daughter Cloe Orr of Payson, Utah; three sons, Kenneth (Myrna) Hamilton of Idaho Falls, Grant (Lola) Hamilton of May and DaWayne (Linda) Hamilton of Salmon; 15 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughers; one grandson; one great-grandchild; four brothers and two sisters. Burial took place in the Salmon Cememtery. Arrangements were by the Jones & Casey Funeral Home.
