Roy Dale Knapp, 90, of Cullom, Illlinois, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno, Illinois.

Roy was born September 23, 1932, in Watseka, Illinois, the son of William and Priscilla (Feller) Knapp. He married Meri Earing on October 12, 1974, in Cullom, Illinois. She survives in Cullom, Illinois.

Roy graduated from Hoopeston High School. He was in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was a factory worker for General Foods in Kankakee for 30 years. He was then employed as a custodian at Tri-Point Grade School at Kempton for 8 years, finally retiring in 1995.

Roy was a member of the Cullom American Legion and a lifelong member of the VFW. He loved to watch sports, especially the Bears, Cubs and Bulls games. He enjoyed gathering with his friends for coffee which he did up until he was unable to drive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Kenneth Knapp, Charles Knapp, Irvin Knapp, and Lynn Knapp; and a sister, Maryann Mann.

Inurnment burial with full military rights will immediately follow the Celebration of Life at West Lawn Cemetery in Cullom, Illinois.
