Alfred Taylor Lady, Jr. of Conley Ridge Road in Bakersville, NC formerly of Hampton, TN, met his Heavenly Father on September 15, 2022.

Born on December 17, 1946, to Alfred Taylor and Virgie Leonard Lady in Bluff City, TN, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and held several Expert Rifle Medals. He loved his country and served proudly.

He is survived by his partner, Celene Pressley of Bakersville. Her daughter, BJ Gouge, and son, Ben Pressley, also both of Bakersville; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his sister, Marie Trivette of Statesville, NC; He is also survived by his dear friend, Betty Norman of Marion, and his special fur-babies, 'Spike' and 'Lil But'; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Al was a special man, who treated everyone with kindness. He loved to joke around, play bingo with Celene and hoped to buy that "certain" lottery ticket one day. He was good at fixing cars and lawnmowers and loved tending to his beloved garden on his hands and knees. He will greatly be missed.

No funeral or services are planned at this time, per his request.

Celene and the kids would like to thank Hospice of the Blue Ridge for all their care and kindness during his illness, and to Henline-Hughes Funeral Home for their help also.

The family would like to ask, that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Mitchell High School Auto Tech Department.
