He married the love of his life, Joanne Bookshar on September 21, 1957. They had four children: Judith A. (Eric) Scola of Bentleyville, Henry "Herb" W. (Luann) Bashour of Republic, James R. (Gina) Bashour of New Salem, Mary Jo Bashour of Republic; three grandchildren: Jessica Scola of Bentleyville, Jillian Scola of Greensburg, Zachary Bashour of New Salem; one great granddaughter, Madison Scola of Bentleyville; two babies: Teddy and Lilley.
Henry graduated in 1946 from Saint Vincent's Prep School, joined the United States Army and was a Korean Conflict Veteran. He was the owner and partner of Redstone Candy until his retirement in 2008. Henry was a member of the former Holy Rosary Church in Republic, now St. Francis of Assisi Parish. He was an usher and former Parish Council member at Holy Rosary Church. He was a life member of the Republic Volunteer Fire Company, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 590. He enjoyed spending time with his family including Saturday morning breakfasts, vacationing in Ocean City, MD, watching the Steelers, movies and biking.
In honoring Henry's request there was a private Blessing Service on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in the funeral home followed by interment in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA. Henry's professional funeral services were entrusted to the KISH-FABRY FUNERAL HOME, INC., Republic, PA.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Republic Volunteer Fire Company or the American Legion Post 590.
