He traveled to Nottingham Township, York County, Pennsylvania, enlisted as a Private and joined Captain James Grier's Company in Col. James Chamber's Second Pennsylvania Regiment (22 Mar).
1777-1778 - Was at Valley Forge during the winter
1781 (Age: 27) - Honorably Discharged from the Army, at Trenton, New Jersey.
1782 (Age: 28) - Married to Ann Robb
1818 (Age: 64) - Pension claim filed in Perry County, OH (Claim No. S. 40369) This claim was based on the military services of James Rusk during the War of the Revolution.
1839 (Age: 85) James died in Clayton Township, Perry Co., OH. James and Ann are in the small unity Presbyterian Cemetery.
