Obituary
Chavez: Eusebio (Charlie) Chavez, 79, of Hanover died Sunday May 31, 1970 at Hillcrest General Hospital. A native of Belen, he had resided in Grant County for 58 years. He was a retired welder for Empire Zinc Mining Company and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Daria Chavez of Hanover; a daughter, Mrs. Erlinda Esparza of Grants; two step-sons, Miguel Campos of Akron, Ohio and Ramon Campos of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfredo Chavez of Belen and Adenago Chavez of Barstow, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Gregoria Baldonado of Albuquerque, Mrs. Delfina Pena of Belen and Mrs. Meres Ulibarri of Santa Fe. Rosary was said in the Curtis Mortuary Chapel Tuesday evening and the funeral Mass was on Wednesday in the Hanover Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Adrien St. Charles officiating. Burial followed in the Hanover Cemetery.
