Shaya was survived by her son Ben López (Leann); daughters: Deborah Archuleta, Velvet Money, and Crystal Gonzáles (Jonathan); grandchildren: Tony Valdéz (Christy), Jenna Money (Dee), Shaya Anne Martinez, Ricky Chávez (Jerrica), Renee Money, Michael Money (Jaylyn), Ruby López, Zachary Gonzáles (Lorisa), and Myriah Gonzáles; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Rosina López, Robert Espinoza, and Ambrosio Espinoza.
Shaya retired from the State of New Mexico. She loved the outdoors, gardening and most of all loved fishing at the lakes. She also liked shopping and trying her luck at the local casinos.
Rosary and funeral Mass were on 8 October at Holy Cross Church. A private burial was at a later time. Pallbearers: Zachary Gonzáles, Randy Gonzáles, Tony Valdéz, Ricky Chávez, Dee Martinez and Terrance Sánchez. Honorary Pallbearers were all her other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
