She graduated from MSTC High School and attended Dr. Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN. She taught Lutheran elementary schools in Green Lake, Green Bay and Algoma, WI. She married Donald Heidmann in Algoma, on August 26, 1950. Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry (Rachel) Schroeder and Elfrieda (Ewald) Lotthammer; husband, Donald; brothers, sister and brothers- and sisters-in-law: Henry Schroeder, Melvin (Peggy) Schroeder, Marilyn(Milton) Schauer, Ralph (Ilene) Schroeder, Jacquelin Schroeder, James Schroeder, and Harold (Marie) Heidmann. Surviving are her children, Karen (Tony Wilkinson) Heidmann, Brewster, NY, Robert Heidmann, Kewaunee, WI, Susan (Joseph) Obertin, New London, WI, and Keith (Mindy Mymudes) Heidmann, Milwaukee, WI, three grandchildren, Andrea (Kurtis) Freimuth, Alicia Obertin, and Joseph (Alexandra) Obertin; three great grandchildren, Fiona Freimuth, Dale Freimuth, and Leonidas Obertin; sister, Anita (Walter) Hannemann, Park Rapids, MN; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Schroeder, Sun City West, AZ, and June Schauer, Jamestown, ND.
