Roger W. Higgins, 73, of Superior died Thursday, September 1, 2022, unexpectedly of natural causes at the Old Vermillion Trail Hunting Preserve.

Roger was born in Superior on November 2, 1948, the son of Roger A. and Marjorie Higgins.

He graduated from Superior Senior High School with the class of 1966. He married Patricia Hase on August 25, 1973, and they recently celebrated 49 years of marriage.

Roger had worked as a semi driver early in life and was a member of the carpenter's union working various construction jobs including schools and the paper mill.

He was a member of the Old Vermillion Trail Hunting Preserve where he enjoyed shooting Trap and Sporting Clays. He was also a member the Superior Elks Lodge and the Eagles Club. Roger was very adventurous and enjoyed riding motorcycles, skydiving, and sailing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jackie; brother, Tim; and grandson, Ryan Moore.

Roger is survived by his wife, Pat; son, Matthew Higgins of Denver, CO; stepchildren, Thomas (Cheryl) Moore of Raytown, MO, Michael Moore of Superior, and Robert (Debbie) Moore of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Jessa (Jacob) Volkmann and Kayla Moore; great granddaughter, Georgia Volkmann; siblings, Cheryl (Mike) Morgan of Cincinnati, OH, Jeffrey (Jodie) Pederson of Superior, and Lisa (Jeff) Larsen of Foxboro; nieces, nephews, and extended family; and his beloved and spoiled cat, Rocky.
