Chelan – Blanche Alice Sines, who had lived in Chelan the past 63 years, died April 9 in the Community Hospital after a brief illness. She was 74.
Born on June 8, 1877, in Winnebago County, Mrs. Sines came with her parents to Davenport in a covered wagon and at the age of 12 homesteaded. She was married in Chelan on Feb. 25, 1909, to L. R. Sines.
Mrs. Sines was employed by the post office for 46 years, four years of that time as postmaster. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Episcopal Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 pm from the Rose Chapel of the Smith Funeral Home with the Chelan Chapter of OES in charge. Burial will be in the Fraternal Cemetery.
Surviving are one son, Gordon; and two grandchildren.
