Ken was born January 29, 1928 in Monroe the son of the late Oliver and Rose (Sievert) Aldridge. Ken attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1946 graduate of Monroe High School. Ken furthered his education by attending The University of Toledo, majoring in accounting.
On December 18, 1948 in Monroe Ken married his beloved wife the former C. Louise Smith. Sadly she preceded him in death on April 1, 1997 after 48 years of marriage.
Ken served his country proudly and honorably as a member of the US Army from August 16, 1946 to December 8, 1947. For his heroism Ken received the Army Occupation Medal, Japan and the WII Victory Medal.
Ken worked as an accountant for Jones Transfer Company in Monroe until his retirement in 1985.
Ken was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the VFW Post 1138. He enjoyed photography, bowling and playing cards with his friends.
Ken is survived by 2 caring children; Alan L. Aldridge and Vicki L. (John) Mullins both of Monroe and 2 cherished grandchildren; Cristy Smaidy and Steven Eric Mullins. In addition to his wife Louise and his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a brother Robert and sister Laura Culp.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe where funeral services celebrating Ken's life will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Dennis Bux, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park where the VFW Post 1138 will conduct military honors.
