He was the son of Philip and Martha ? Austin, the father from MA and a Rev War Veteran. He married Martha Ann Clark 8/1/1844 in Floyd County, IN and had 6 children, William R. [Sarah Ann Sprinkle], Mary/Laura Ann [Enos Hendren], Walter [Ann Esarey], Obed Franklin [America Frances Byerly], John Philip [Mahala Kimes], Albert Gallatin [Jane Root]. His grave was shown to me by his grandson in law, Earl Roberts in the mid 1960's as there is no stone. He was a veteran of the Civil War from Crawford County....66th Regt/Co K. His death was the result of pneumonia.
