Chelan, May 7 – Delmer S. Rice, 72, of Chelan, died in the Chelan Community hospital this morning after a brief illness. Born in Michigan on August 1, 1879, he later moved to California and then to Chelan in 1907 where he had since lived. He was married to Ada Stratton of Chelan in 1942.
Surviving are four brothers; one step-daughter, Mrs. A. P. Butler of Pullman; and one stepson, Donald Stratton of Chicago.
Mr. Rice was a member of the Chelan Valley Lodge No. 118, F&AM for which he was treasurer a number of years. He also was a charter member of IOOF Lodge No. 169 of Chelan.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday. Smith Funeral Home is in charge.
