Arthur W. Padish, age 86, died in Scottsdale October 10 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Universal, IN, to John and Hulda (Spurr) Padish. He grew up in Gary, IN, where he graduated from Lew Wallace High School. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. After his discharge, he enrolled at Indiana University, graduating in January 1949. He was branch manager of an electrical supply company in Gary and later joined U.S. Steel's electrical supply and wire rope divisions first in Chicago and then in the Evansville, IN area. In retirement, he and his wife moved to Brown County, IN, and in 1997 they moved to Scottsdale, AZ. Arthur, known as Art, is survived by his college sweetheart, Charlotte, his wife of 57 years and their three children, William (Beatriz), of Roselle, IL, James (Gay Lynn), and Gail Padish Clarin, of Scottsdale. Art's seven grandchildren are Michaela and Jonathan Padish of Roselle, and Erica, Megan, Joseph, and Mackenzie Padish and Michael Clarin of Scottsdale. Art was a member of North Scottsdale United Methodist Church. For several years he played in a golf league at Coronado Golf Course. Art's memorial service celebrating his life will be at North Scottsdale United Methodist Church, on the east side of the road between Shea and Cactus Roads, on Monday, October 15, at 1 p.m. The family will greet friends and relatives at a reception at the church immediately following the service.
