Scott Douglas Heffner, 51, of Gainesville, FL, passed away September 21, 2022 after a
courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Baltimore, MD, and graduated from Salisbury University and Jacksonville State University. For the last eleven years he was employed by the City of Gainesville as Employee and Labor Relations Manager.

Scott loved to run, play basketball, skateboard, listen to punk rock music and watch his favorite teams, the Maryland Terps and Baltimore Ravens…sometimes all in the same day. He had a brilliant mind and wicked sense of humor. He was a devoted husband, father and caring friend to so many.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha, and children Abby and Jack; his parents Ron and Peggy Heffner; brother Mark Heffner (Kimberle); sister Julie Sutton (David); brother Kevin Heffner (Jackie); nieces and nephews Brett, Caroline, Katelyn, Holly, Emily and Cory; mother-in-law Linda Miller and sister-in-law Charlie Miller.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street.
