Mrs. Elsie Z. Smith, 83, formerly of Ohio 503 North, Lewisburg, died Feb. 2 at Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, after a brief illness. She had been living with her daughter, Elsie Maureen Hepner, in Springboro. She was a native of Warren County and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewisburg. Her husband, Justice E., died in 1980, and a son, Victor E., died in 1979.

Surviving in addition to her daughter, are two other daughters, Iydella M. Unger of Mount Sterling, Ky., and Ruby A. Miller of Englewood; two sons, Ira T. Smith of Troy and Justice E. Smith, Jr. of Brevard, N.C.; one brother, Alfred Miltenberger of Arcanum; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Smith were Saturday at the Barnes Funeral Home, Lewisburg Chapel with the Rev. Albert E. Swingle officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg. The family received friends Friday evening at the funeral home.
