ROCKFORD – Max D. Butt, age 87, of Rockford and formerly of Byron passed away peacefully at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford on Thursday September 1, 2022 after a brief illness. Born in Rockford on September 17, 1934 to George & Evelyn Butt. Max graduated from Byron High School and drove truck for many years. An avid NASCAR & Dale Earnhardt fan, he loved his Cadillac's & Harley's. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his sons, Michael, Gordon (Janice), Randy, Dennis and Brian (Margo); numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren; brother, George (Pam) Butt; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Vicki Butt; former wife, Barbara Conderman; siblings; Duane, Tex, Squire, Dixie, Sally and Nancy; and his parents.

Funeral Services held Friday September 9, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home,925 3rd Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Interment at Willwood Burial Park, Rockford. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project.
