Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at 12:00 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Amy Roger Hulo, 80, who passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Reverend Mark Melancon, Pastor of St. Peter Catholic Church in Grand Prairie, Louisiana will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing "Be Not Afraid", "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross" for the services.

Survivors include one daughter, Anita Hulo of Maryland; one son, Jasper Babineaux and his wife Terry of Opelousas; four grandchildren, Shane Babineaux, Jerusha McDonald, Daniel Babineaux and Kassi Dupre; six great grandchildren, Joshua Babineaux, Bryson Fruge, Mia Babineaux, Miles McDonald, Parker Fruge and Emma Babineaux; and one brother, Elinor Roger and his wife Martha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Editha Richard Roger; her first husband, Adolph Babineaux, Jr.; her second husband, James Warren Hulo; one sister, Claudia Dugas; and two brothers, David Roger and Aldus Roger.

A native of Carencro and a resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Amy Hulo loved children and will be remembered for her baby sitting for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Amy Hulo will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be David McDonald, Daniel Babineaux, Roland Roger, Keith Cormier, Ivy Menard, Jr. and Shannon Menard. Honorary Pallbearer will be Elinor Roger.

A Rosary was prayed on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Visitation was observed on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and will continue today, Wednesday, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
