I have a small cardand envelope to Mrs. F. Cotter, Clarkson, NY (Ridge) post dated20 Feb 1908 saying: "Yourself and Gentleman are invited to attend a Ladies' Leap Year Party, to be given in the Clarkson Town Hall, Thursday Eve., Feb 27, '08. Dancing 9 to 2 Buffet Lunch, Seventy-Five Cents"

MRS. JULIA GARDNER COTTER, WIDOW OF THE LATE FRANK J. COTTER PASSED ON SATURDAY, JULY 17, 1943. SHE WAS A LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF CLARKSON HAVING BEEN BORN THERE 14 APR 1863. MRS. COTTER WAS ALSO A GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER OF ISAAC AND ABIGAIL CORY PIONEERS WHO SETTLED IN CLARKSON IN 1816. THE HOME REMAINING IN THE FAMILY EIGHT GENERATIONS. SHE LEAVES TWO DAUGHTERS, MRS. FRANK C. BATEMAN OF SPENCERPORT, NY, AND MRS. ROLLIN B. WOOD OF HILTON, ONE SON FRED H. COTTER OF BROCKPORT, 4 GR CHILDREN AND 4 GRANDCHILDEN. FUNERAL SERVICES WAS HELD FROM THE FOWLER FUNERAL HOME, STATE STREET, BROCKPORT. TUESDAY AT 2:30 P.M. REV. CHAPMAN, PASTOR OF THE GARLAND METHODIST CHURCH OFFICIATING. INTERMENT IN THE FAMILY PLOT IN GARLAND CEMETERY. NOTE: MY GRANDMOTHER, LUCY ANN (COTTER) BATEMAN, AND MY MOTHER, FRANCES VIVIAN(BATEMAN) SPENCER, WERE BOTH BORN IN THE FRANK COTTER HOUSE. ONE OF MY EARLIEST MEMORIES WAS BEING IN THE HOME AROUND 2 YEARS OF AGE, AND SEEING OUT THE FRONT WINDOW AND AROUND THE BEDROOM; ALSO SEEING MY GREAT GRANDFATHER'S VIOLIN UNDER THE BED. AS THEY DIED IN 1942 AND 1943, IT HAD TO BE BEFORE THIS TIME. I AM NEARLY 68 YEARS OF AGE, AND I RECALL THIS VERY CLEARLY IN MY MIND. OVER THE YEARS I HAVE STOPPED AT THE HOUSE BUT NO ONE WAS HOME. IN THE FALL OF 1999, I NOTED THAT THEY WERE DOING CONSTRUCTION ON THE INSIDE OF THE HOUSE, AND THIS MAY HAVE CHANGED THE AREA I MENTIONED ABOVE. HER MARRIAGE CERT. NO 11611, STATE OF NY; WITNESSES: WILLIAM COTTER AND MARY COTTER: E.J. WHITNEY, MINISTER
