Erwin D. "Bub" Lufkin, 87, formerly of Oneida, died at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2022, in Marigold Health Care Center.
Bub was born August 2, 1935, at home in East Galesburg, the son of Frank V. and Bernice O. (Hall) Lufkin. He married Kathleen E. Stickle February 24, 1957, in Oneida. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2008 after 51 years of marriage.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol (Russell) Wignall of Aurora, Colorado and Caren Lufkin of Galesburg; granddaughters, Alisha (Eugene) Bachman III of Lakeland, Florida and Brittany Wignall of Aurora, Colorado; great grandchildren, Aubrey Bachman and Travis Bachman; and sister-in-law, Maxine Lufkin of Argo Fay, Illinois. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marcia Lufkin; a son, Michael Lufkin; a sister, Grace (Franklin) Clewell; a brother, Larry Lufkin; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bub worked for the Oneida Farmers Coop in Oneida and at Archer Daniels Midland Company in Galesburg. He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, camping, and vegetable gardening. He had been a member of the Little John Conservation Club for 57 years.
There will be no visitation or funeral. He will be buried with Kathleen in the Oneida Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Little John Conservation Club.
