Madge Gutwein, 85, of Francesville, IN, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, IN, surrounded by family.

She was born on August 17, 1937 in Magoffin County. KY to the late Bob Arnett and Wava (Banks)Davis. The family moved to Indiana in 1947. Madge attended and graduated from Wheatfield High School in 1956. That year, she married Luther Allen and they had three children together. On April 3, 1976, she married the love of her life, Robert Gutwein.

Madge was a faithful Christian woman with a servant's heart. She was a member of First Christian Church in Francesville. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and canning and was well-known for her delicious pies. She spent much of her time golfing and vacationing with her husband and friends. Madge was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She especially loved spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Madge will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is now resting in the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior.

Madge is survived by her husband; four children; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother; one sister; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Kile Davis; one son, Craig Allen; one great-grandson, Miles Allen; and two siblings, Elsie Ritchie and Vernice Arnett.

Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Friday, September 23, 2022 and from 1-2 PM on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Francesville, IN. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM with Pastor James Ketchen officiating. Burial will take place at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville, IN.
