Ellen Marie Kurz, age 58 years, of Frenchtown, NJ, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones at Overlook Medical Center, Summit, NJ.
She was born in Washington, D.C on November 9, 1963 to the late John Edward Walker, Jr. and Patricia Joan David. She was raised in Lanham, MD, until finding her way to Frenchtown, NJ, where she married the love of her life, Edward Charles Kurz, on September 8, 2007.
She was a proud member of the kitchen staff of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, where she was loved by both the staff and students.
Ellen was our family historian who tirelessly researched over 77,000+ names on our family tree. She was also an active trustee of our ancestral cemetery Arnon Cemetery in Great Falls, VA.
She had a wicked sense of humor, quick wit, and an infectious laugh. Ellen was a talented photographer, genealogist, woodworker, loved nature especially from the view of her kayak, caregiver, loved animals and was an avid birder with a talent to find eagles everywhere she went.
Surviving are her husband of fifteen years, Edward Kurz; her beloved daughter, Samantha Scannella-Gray and her husband, Henry; her most cherished grandchildren, Stella, Colton, Gracelynn, Amber and Johnny; her loving family of siblings, Marsha Scheideler and her husband, John, Matthew Walker and his wife, Tiffany, Heather Burnett and her husband, Joe, Michael Walker and his wife, Kim, and Andrew Walker and his wife, Bianca; many treasured nieces and nephews; aunts; uncles; and several dear friends. She loved her entire family fiercely.
While we will miss her deeply every second of every day, we find comfort that she has found peace in a place as beautiful as she. She will now watch over her family with the rest of our ancestral angels.
A Life Celebration service will be held at a later date.
