March 4, 1934 - October 24, 2017
Regina M. Nocchi "Jung Soon" entered this life on March 4, 1934 in Osaka, Japan to parents Subak and Poksu Lim. She peacefully entered into eternal life on October 24, 2017 in Mentone, California.
Regina's family was originally from Korea but lived in Japan until she was 11 years old.
After World War II, her family was repatriated to Korea where she remained until her early 20's. She met Eugene, who was there serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. They married, relocated to the United States, and eventually settled in Highland, California where they raised seven children.
She loved caring for her family which included her fondness of cooking her signature dishes, like fried rice and kimchi. She took great pride in being a mother and grandmother and would take the title of 'matriarch' with a sense of accomplishment. Regina had many hobbies and interests. She was fond of life's many simple joys, including crocheting and singing karaoke. She was a neighborhood mom, feeding and clothing children along with her own. Everyone loved her fried rice! Those who were close to her remember the "jams" that she made for kids to wear during the summer. She was a one-woman sewing machine! All who knew her will miss her deeply. Indeed, she was the "Virtuous Woman," mentioned in Proverbs 31.
Regina is survived by her husband of many years Eugene; sons Tino Nocchi and wife Maryanne, Nick Nocchi and wife Karen; daughters Trese Weaver and husband Mark, Kimberly Wyman and husband Rob; grandsons Nicholas Nocchi, Joseph Nocchi, Daniel Garcia, Christopher Wyman, Nathan Nocchi, and Shawn Conner; granddaughters Brandy Peters, Nicole Barber, and Courtney Wyman; five great grandsons; and two great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by loving sons Amadeo Nocchi, Robert Nocchi, and Paul Nocchi.
