Richard Carl Blosser Sr.

Richard Carl Blosser, Sr. 84, of Fairmont passed away on September 14, 2022, Nella's Autumn Lake in Elkins. He was born in Pocahontas County on July 09, 1938, a son of the late James Willard and Kathleen Elizabeth Vance Blosser.

He proudly served his country for 26 years retiring from the United States Navy. He was a truck driver for Owens-Illinois for over 20 years. He also drove for Atha and Reese-Viking, he was most proud of his time driving for ESPN and WWE. Richard had his private pilots license and owned and operated his own plane.

He was an accomplished musician, recording several of his own records and was involved with the Sagebrush Roundup. Richard was inducted into the West Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame.

He also loved riding his motorcycle and volunteered his time with the Marion County Honor Guard.

He is survived by one son, Richard C. Blosser, Jr. and his wife, Diana Lynn of Fairmont; three daughters, Debra Gower and her husband, Gerald of Fairmont, Renee Hunter- Stiles and her spouse, Kathryn of Florida, and Sondra Six and her husband, John of Fairmont; his grandchildren, Ian Mikey Six, Kourtni Richard and her husband Anthony, Kyle Blosser, Zack Blosser and his wife, Jessica, Samantha Stamnos, Alex Hunter, Danielle Bingamon, Alisha Quickle, Jacob Gower and his wife, Breanna, Rachel Randall and her husband, Leamon, and Kristopher Six and his wife, Rachel; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; a nephew Kevin Blosser and his wife Ann and his sister-in-law Sharon Blosser.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years Ruth Ann Blosser and his brother James Willard Blosser, Jr.

Friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Rich Buonaiuto officiating.

Burial will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery where the Marion County Honor Guard, assisted by the United State Navy will perform full military honors.
