Life-Long Resident of Porter County Succumbs to Illness.
George Beemer, age 78 years, residing at 260 Park avenue, died Wednesday evening at 6:15 o'clock, following a several weeks' illness.
He was born on July 4, 1861, in Washington township, northeast of Valparaiso, a son of Thomas Beemer and Elizabeth (Harger) Beemer. He lived in Porter county all his life and followed farming.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harry Burns and Mrs. Lester Brown, of Valparaiso, and one son, George Beemer, of Danville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Irwin and Mrs. Albert Bartholomew, residing north of Valparaiso, and one brother, Jack Beemer, of Valparaiso. His wife died 10 years ago.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bartholomew chapel on Washington street, conducted by Jehovah's witness, Joseph Bobinski, of South Bend. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Bartholomew funeral home this evening from 7:00 o'clock until time of the services.
