Tom Frank Enloe, age 85, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in Olney. Memorial services and a celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Olney with Chad Edgington, pastor, officiating.
Tom was born on January 7, 1937, in Olney, Texas to the late John Madison Enloe and Dorothy Marie (Aytes) Enloe. He was a lifetime resident of Olney and loved being a part of the Olney community by his service on the Olney Volunteer Fire Department, his active role in church activities and his support to Olney youth in their sporting events. He was the Collections Officer for Olney Savings and Loan, and was well known throughout North Texas for providing chili for all of the grand openings of new branch offices. Tom was an excellent pit master, and would cook ribeye steaks for the annual Olney Savings Christmas party. He would confiscate any condiments that were snuck in saying his steaks didn't need any sauce. He was a hard worker and had also worked at Republic Aluminum and Air Tractor. Tom loved working with mesquite wood and was talented at his craft since he had a creative mind. He married Melba Phares on January 3, 2014, in Olney. He loved his family and was very committed to whatever he was involved with. Most of all, Tom loved Jesus. His favorite bible verse was engraved on the back of his leather belt. Matthew 6:33 ~ "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Johnny Enloe, Wayne Enloe and Jerry Enloe; one sister, Wanda Bell, and a grandson, Michael Flanders.
Tom is survived by his wife, Melba Phares of Denton, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law: Clovis and Sharyn Enloe of Overton, Texas and Tom and Kristi Enloe of Tuscola, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law: Tracy and Lonnie Wales of Olney, Texas and Risal Green of Albany, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Ledford and Henrian Enloe of Amherst, Texas and Carl and Carol Enloe of Littlefield, Texas; eleven grandchildren: Dwanna Enloe, Eric Enloe and wife Tarena, Garrett Enloe and wife Mauri, Randee Schnur and husband Tim, Cacee Wales, Jodee Wales and wife Tori, Kristofer McCandless and wife Kelsey, Derrid Green and wife Addysun, Sage Washington and husband Cedric, Hunter Enloe and Kevie Archbold and husband Kevin; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Beyond Faith Hospice, 604 Oak Street, Suite #105, Graham, Texas 76450 or to First Baptist Church (ministry of your choice), P.O. Box 734, Olney, Texas 76374.
