Harry "Roger" Helms, 56, of West Plains, Mo. will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at Wirth Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains. He was born the son of the late Ernest Helms and Velma Wright Helms, Dec. 11, 1951 in Mooresville and died Sunday, Jan. 27, in West Plains, Mo. He was united in marriage on April 7, 1974 in Mooresville to Lois Parker. Mr. Helms is survived by his wife, Lois Parker Helms, of the home, West Plains, Mo.; two children, Martha May Shuping and husband, David, of Mammoth Spring, Ark., and Phillip "Lee" Helms of Mooresville; three brothers, Ernest "Pee Wee" Helms and wife, Joann, of Belmont, Joe Ben Helms and wife, Celeste, of Maiden and Gilmer Helms and wife, Brenda, of Cornelius; two sisters, Madeline Templeton of Mooresville and Elizabeth Smith and husband, Robert, of Concord; three grandchildren, Whitney G. Helms, Destinee C. Shuping and Cody A. Shuping, all of Mammoth Spring, Ark., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmy Helms and Ray Helms, and one sister, Katie Bustle. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses, and can be left at the funeral home. Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m., today, Friday, Feb. 1 at Carter Funeral Home, in West Plains. Burial will be in Wirth Cemetery, Sharp County, Ark., under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains, Mo.
