Shirley Jean Davis Brown, 76, of Frametown, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 12, 2022, at home surrounded by her family after a long illness.
She was born to the late Carl and Auda Posey Davis of Sutton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ronnie Brown; 2 children, Thierry Brown and Dominique Brown; 1 brother, Jerry Davis; 3 grandchildren.
Shirley was a lifelong Christian and a member of Hope Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, sang and led the choir. She would teach crafts at VBS and would organize a community sing. She loved her church family very much. We always said if you need prayer call her because she had a direct line to Jesus. She was an avid quilter and seamstress and she loved to read.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Angela (Roy) Turpin of VA, Cynthia Wilson of Copen, WV, Patricia (Jay) Ward of Fayetteville, NC, Gary Welch, Jr. of Akron, OH, Christa Brown of Frametown, WV and Dawn (Rob) Syrews of Weston, WV. She also leaves behind a man she came to cherish over the years, Orville (John) Mollohan of Duck, WV; 3 sisters, June (Harold) Batton, Linda Davis, Anna Mae (Carl) Hamrick all of Sutton; 3 brothers, Bill (Judy) Davis of Grafton, OH, Bernie (Judy) Davis of Lynchburg, VA, Steve Davis of Sutton; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and dear friends who will miss her very much.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Hope Baptist Church, Frametown with Rev. Rich Demastus officiating. Burial will follow at Boggs Cemetery, Sutton. Friends called at the church from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
