Mary Thelma Landers Dunn, of Kingwood, Texas, was called to The Lord on February 1, 2008. She was born December 10, 1926 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Samuel David Landers and Mary Emily Jones.

Ms. Dunn received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway; and received her Master Degree in Counseling and Guidance from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA. Ms. Dunn taught High School Home Economics in Arkansas and Louisiana prior to obtaining her Masters Degree. She retired as a high school guidance counselor from Barbe High School in Lake Charles, LA.

Ms. Dunn along with her mother, and two sisters (Merle Landers, and Merdith Landers), moved from Conway, Arkansas to Lake Charles Louisiana in 1969. Always wanting to own her own business, Ms. Dunn, along with her sisters, owned and operated a high end apparel shop, "Mary Carol's", in Lake Charles for many years. Upon retirement from counseling, she and her sisters settled in Kingwood, Texas. There she was an active member of Kingwood First Baptist Church. She was an active member of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) International in Louisiana and Texas.

Ms. Dunn enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting, along with reading and studying the Bible.

She is survived by one sister, Dr. Merdith Landers of Kingwood, Texas; two daughters Delores (Dee) and her husband Jim Lary of Sherwood, Arkansas and Mary Beth and her husband Tom Kavinsky of Chesapeake, Virginia; and a son, Johns Amuel Dunn of Houston, Texas; three grand children, Meredith Lary-Poland (Chad) of North Little Rock, Michael Lary (Erin), of Conway, and Katie Kavinsky of Chesapeake, Virginia; and one great grand daughter Tori-Beth Poland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Merle Landers, and one brother, Dr. Bruce Landers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the funeral home. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 7th at Oak Bowery Baptist Church, with Bro. Ken Gipson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bowery Cemetery under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway. 501-327-7727.
