She was born in Janesville May 4, 1954, the daughter of Charles P. and Beatrice G. (Gramke) Niles. Kim was married to her husband, Michael Soha Aug. 17, 1974, in Janesville. Kim earned her Master of education degree from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and worked as an Elementary and Special Education Teacher, retiring from the Durand School District in 2011. Kim also worked as a Student Teacher Field Supervisor after retiring, and also worked with inmates at the Pepin County Jail to receive their GED's. Kim loved garage sales, thrift stores, and could find a good deal just about anywhere. As an educator, Kim's life, knowledge, and influence in the lives that she touched will never be forgotten. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of the family and friends that came to help and support Kim through her sudden illness.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Soha; two children, JoHannah (Nicholas) Kereven of Waunakee, WI and Jacob (Danica) Soha of Mondovi, WI; mother, Beatrice G. Niles; grandchildren, Laina, Andrea, Walter, and Levi; her dog, Sadie; and extended family and friends.
Kim is predeceased by her father, Charles P. Niles in 2016; and her brother, Charles A. Niles in 2014.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3 until 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Schneider Funeral Home. At Kim's request, a private family burial will be held on a later date.
