W.A. Epley Meets Death Supposedly From Evening Fairmont Express
His Body Found On Tracks
W.A. Epley, a resident of Woods Run hollow, was struck by a train a short distance about the Woods Run stop, Sunday night about 7 o'clock. He was coming down the track towards the station. No one was near when the accident happened, he was struck by the (?) and it is not known whether he was struck by the evening express from Fairmont due at Charleroi at 7:01 or by an engine that passed. He was found about 8 o'clock.
The deceased was born at Fairchance, July 14, 1856. About 35 years ago he was married at Elco to a daughter of A.W. Conway. After living there a few years he removed to Fairchance, returning to Elco about nine years ago.
The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon from the home of Mrs. Albert Gregg in Elco. Rev. H.H. Ryland conducted the short service. The interment was at Howe cemetery
