Former School Teacher Taken Ill At Baden-Baden, Succumbs.
The family and friends of Miss Elizabeth Alberti of East Main Street were immeasurably shocked this morning to learn of her death Wednesday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock, in Baden-Baden, Germany, where she had spent the past six months, domiciled in a pleasant pension, since April.
The sad news came in cablegram received this morning by her sister, Miss Christine Alberti, following one received yesterday morning, conveying the news that she was dangerously ill, upon receipt of which Miss Christine cabled immediately for details of her condition.
The death of Miss Alberti was all the more unexpected, because the letter had just been received stating that she was in unusually good health and spirits, and had made all arrangements to return home in early October.
Miss Elizabeth Alberti was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Alberti of this city, where she had spent her entire life. She was a teacher in the public schools until her retirement some few years ago, since which she has spent much time in travel in Europe, where she had made many extended visits.
She was a woman of fine mind and appreciation of the arts and finer things in life, the pursuit and enjoyment of which was the occasion of her stay in Baden-Baden. She was a member of St. Mary's church in this city.
Surviving are her sisters, Mrs. Caroline Boulger and Miss Christine Alberti of this city.
The body will be spent here for burial, the arrangements in Germany being in charge of Mrs. Henrietta Klee of Cincinnati, an intimate friend, with whom Miss Alberti went over in April.
