Lorraine Delores Richardson 90; passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in her family home August 22, 2022. She is survived by her 2 sons, a daughter, a sister, 3 brothers, 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Arthur E. (Gene) Richardson and her son Blake (June).
Lorraine was born in Elgin, ND July 1, 1932, to Amelia and Rudolph Dietz. Early life for Lorraine was marked by the great depression moving with her family to California. In her early 20's she moved to Missoula MT, which remained her home for the rest of her life. Lorraine married her beloved husband Gene at St. Paul Lutheran Church December 15, 1951. For 57 years the couple raised and mentored a beautiful, blended family of 7 children, which included three of her young siblings.
Lorraine worked side by side with Gene as the bookkeeper for the family business Machinery Supply. Lorraine's life was led in athleticism. Competitive bowling leagues, skiing, superb dancing skills, campouts with Boy Scout Troop- 2, painstaking rose gardens care, and her love of golf. At the age of 36 she started golfing and quickly fell in love with the game at which she excelled. She had a smooth calculated swing and an uncanny ability to hit it straight – Nonstop. She graciously took many new golfers under her wing and raised her competition field in doing so as she was a great teacher. She was entered into the Montana Golf Federation Hall of Fame in 1997 for her achievements and contributions to the game over the years.
Lorraine loved her children and marveled at all their accomplishments without comparison. She always had time to provide wisdom, hope and praise determined by the conversation. Her numerous grandchildren provided her many stories of adventure and more boasting rights.
