Donna was born Feb. 24, 1946, in Amherst to Joe and Lucy Barnett (nee Branscum). She was raised and lived in both Amherst and Lorain, graduating from Admiral King High School with the class of 1964.
Donna loved to serve and care for others which was evident throughout her life. She was a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church of Amherst where she had served as an Elder as well as Sunday school teacher. She served her community in the banking industry at Lorain National Bank and Lormet Credit Union. She made numerous wedding cakes for friends and family and shared her home made crafts with those she loved. She had a love for sewing and painting. Most important to Donna was her family. She cherished her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Family trips, dinners and gatherings were always a delight to her. She enjoyed couples golf for several decades with her husband Mike and always enjoyed their ski trips with their friends.
Donna is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-five years, Michael D. Ireland; daughters, Kelly (Frank) Ireland and Amanda (Michael) Bellisario; grandchildren, Francesco (DeeDee) TrenTadue and Giuliana Bellisario; sisters, Dee (Tim) Andrews, Dawn (Larry) Miller and Darlene DiFilippo as well as many treasured extended family members.
She was preceded in death not only by her parents but also grandparents, Boyd and Elta Barnett, and Chuck and Olie Branscum, as well as many aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 8th, 2022, from 4 to 8 pm at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at 11 am at the Heritage Presbyterian Church, 515 North Leavitt Rd, Amherst, Ohio 44001. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
