"Mit" is the d/o Daniel Grantham and Sally Slade. Her first husband Elias Whiddon, who served in Co I, 38th MS Inf, CSA, was killed May 20, 1863 in Vicksburg, MS. She then married Albert Graham, who also served in the Civil War. He died in 1929 at the Soldiers Home at Beauvoir in Biloxi, MS and is buried in the cemetery there. Elias is buried in a mass grave in Vicksburg, but has a memorial marker erected by his family and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He and Mit are the parents of Jessie, Ebenezer and Susan. Jessie and Ebenezer are buried at Grantham Cemetery and Susan, who married Jefferson Jones, is buried in the Jones Cemetery in Forrest County, MS. Mit was a midwife credited with delivering over 1,000 children in and around Lamar and Marion Counties in MS.
